For buyers outside India

Compression Mold Maker in India for Export Buyers

We build compression molds for thermoset molding companies and GRP enclosure makers outside India, with the same DFM, steel and trial process our Indian customers rely on.

NDA before drawings

A compression mold is a heated steel tool used on a hydraulic press to shape thermoset materials such as SMC, BMC and phenolic. We are a specialist compression mold maker in India, building molds for custom compression molding and thermoset molding companies abroad.

Why buy compression molds from India

Specialist, not generalist

Thermoset compression molds are our main line, not a side business of an injection shop.

Engineering first

A DFM report on your part before you commit, shared online.

Clear communication

One engineer as your contact, with regular photo and video updates through the build.

Competitive cost

Indian tool-room costs with hardened, polished cavities built to last.

Compression molding tooling we export

As a compression mold manufacturer, we build complete tools and the parts that keep them running. Every mold is designed around your part, your material and your press.

ToolingTypical partsMaterial
SMC moldsGRP enclosures, meter boxes, junction boxes, covers and panelsSMC (sheet molding compound)
BMC moldsInsulators, busbar supports, terminal blocks, breaker housingsBMC / DMC (bulk molding compound)
Phenolic moldsSwitch and socket bases, fuse carriers, heat-resistant partsPhenolic (Bakelite), melamine, UF
Multi-cavity moldsSmall electrical parts made in high volumeBMC, phenolic, melamine
Replacement cavities and insertsNew cavities or inserts for an existing mold baseH13, W302 ESR

See our SMC molds and BMC and DMC molds pages for design details, or recent projects with photos from our tool room.

Steel, heating and documentation

Export molds have to work first time in a press we may never see, so we agree the details up front and document them.

ItemWhat we supply
Cavity and core steelH13 or Böhler W302 ESR, hardened; P20 for plates and holders
Steel traceabilitySteel bought from known suppliers, with supplier certificates on request
HeatingCartridge heaters and thermocouples to your voltage and controller
Press fitMold height, clamping, ejection and lifting points to your press data

From part design to mold: our SMC enclosure study

Every export project starts with a feasibility study of your part. This film shows our study of an SMC electrical enclosure: the part, the mold concept and the checks we make before any steel is cut.

How an export project runs

  1. NDA and drawings. We sign your NDA, then you share the 3D model, material and press details.
  2. Online DFM review. We send the DFM report and discuss it on a video call.
  3. Quotation. Mold price, steel, lead time and delivery terms.
  4. Build with updates. Photos and videos at each stage of machining and fitting.
  5. Trial video and parts. A recorded trial and first-off parts for your approval.
  6. Export crating. Rust protection and export crating for sea or air freight.

Mold trials: watch it run before it ships

Every mold is tried on a press before dispatch. Export buyers receive the trial video and first-off parts for approval, so you see the mold working before it leaves our tool room.

Packing and shipping

Finished molds are cleaned, rust-protected and painted on the outside, with the cavity surfaces oiled and wrapped. Spares and loose parts are packed separately and listed. Delivery terms are agreed in the quotation; the nearest sea port to our tool room is JNPT (Nhava Sheva) near Mumbai.

What to send for a quote

  • 3D model of the part (STEP or IGES) and a 2D drawing
  • Material: SMC, BMC, phenolic or other, with grade if known
  • Annual volume and number of cavities wanted
  • Press tonnage, platen size, daylight and ejection layout
  • Heating supply: voltage and controller type
  • Delivery country and preferred delivery terms

FAQ

Do you supply compression molds outside India?

Yes. We quote for thermoset molding companies and GRP enclosure makers in the UK, the Middle East, the USA and elsewhere.

Can you build to my press and platen size?

Yes. Send your press tonnage, platen layout, heating supply and ejection details and we design the mold to fit.

How do I see the trial if I am abroad?

We record the trial on video and send first-off parts for your approval before the mold is shipped.

Do you make both SMC molds and BMC molds?

Yes. We build SMC molds for large parts such as GRP enclosures and BMC molds for smaller electrical parts, including multi-cavity tools.

What is the lead time for an export mold?

A typical compression mold takes 6–8 weeks from approved design, plus shipping time. We confirm the date in the quotation.

Which steel do you use?

Hardened H13 or Böhler W302 ESR for cavities and cores, and P20 for plates and holders. We recommend the grade in the DFM based on your material and volume.
